Self-Improvement: The Benefits of Physical, Emotional and Financial Well Being
In order to have a healthy, stable love relationship, we all need to take a look at ourselves, an honest one, and do some homework. Today everyone refers to that as self-improvement. Self-improvement is a gift we give ourselves first, as we strive for physical fitness, emotional well being and financial stability.
The Importance of Being Physically Fit
Everyone knows the outward benefit of being physically fit is having a body that looks great. But physical fitness is not just about muscle tone, weight loss or gain and exercise.
Physical fitness actually begins on the inside. In order to have a truly beautiful body, we have to treat our bodies with respect and monitor the toxins we take in while maintaining proper nutrition. Toxins are unavoidable due to air pollution, body sprays, lotions, etc., but there are plenty we expose ourselves to that are avoidable. All of these produce some level of toxins that our bodies have to figure out how to get rid of.
Toxins build up in the system and distract the body from doing what it is supposed to by forcing it to expend its energy cleaning up toxic waste. This energy really should be used for more important things, like proper digestion.
Taking this into consideration, consider what you put into your body and start asking yourself if it is naturally good for the body and if the body will be able to use it. If it is not useful but toxic instead, you will be creating more work for your body to function normally. This creates a perfect opportunity for illness and possibly disease to set in, which is obviously not part of being physically fit.
The Value of Emotional Well Being
Again, this probably seems like common sense. However, how many people truly understand the impact their emotional well being, or lack of, has on their bodies?
For example, too many people suffer from typical illnesses and discomforts, such as acid reflux or headaches. Most of the time, these symptoms set in due to stress on the physical body. Not all stress is negative but all stress, whether it is physical or emotional...positive or negative...forces the body to have to work harder to function properly. Sound familiar? Yes, its all tied together because the body operates as one unit.
When the body is fighting something, eventually, the results will show in how you feel. If you are fighting emotional issues you will usually feel it somehow in your body.
The Freedom of Financial Stability
Another seemingly no-brainer. Simply put, finances have a tendancy to rule our emotional well being. And, as pointed out above, the impact of our emotional well being directly affects our level of physical health and fitness.
It is important to be realistic about your finances. How much money you make vs. how much you spend. The average person spends far more than their income would allow if they had to pay cash for everything when they bought it. Therefore creating debt. And debt creates doubt about one's financial stability and ability to pay their bills. And doubt creates emotional stress. See how it is all tied together?
Self-Improvement Tips
Take time to focus on yourself and start making the necessary changes - from the inside out. From the inside of your body, make sure you are taking precautions to maintain your health.
From the inside of your mind, take time to meditate, clear your thoughts, relax and learn to let go of things you cannot change.
From the inside of your wallet, start tracking your spending habits and eliminate unnecessary purchases that may be putting you in debt or keeping you from your financial goals.
If you apply the time and energy, sincerely, you will become a happier, healthier person - and therefore, have better relationships!
